Celtic take on St Mirren in Glasgow on the last day of the Scottish Premiership season, on what is set to be an emotional day at Celtic Park for a number of reasons.
Just three days after emphatically securing the title at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock, Brendan Rodgers and his team will be looking to put on a show once again, just a week out from the Scottish Cup final versus Rangers at Hampden. Indeed, they scored five goals without reply, as they sprinted across the finish line to secure a third consecutive league title. They have had similar joy against their opponent this weekend, too, as they have defeated them on four separate occasions throughout the season, including a 3-0 win the last time the two played at Celtic Park.
With a league title to lift at the game’s conclusion and the small matter of a Glasgow Derby next weekend, what team will Rodgers elect to go with to start this game? The Celtic Way’s Ryan McGinlay and Tony Haggerty each have their say…

No two ways about it, ‘Trophy Day’ has not been a guarantee this season.
Alas, this makes the occasion all the more sweeter, as Celtic have had to truly graft for this league win over the course of the campaign. Now that they have accomplished their first of two missions this month, Rodgers may pick a team that has next week’s events at Hampden in mind.
I've been debating in my mind whether or not the manager will change anything from the other night, and I’ve decided to stick with this assumption as a result. Celtic must lift the trophy in style, which is why they will play their strongest team from the start on Saturday afternoon.
In goals, Joe Hart will start his final home game, as Celtic will look to cap off his great run at the club with two trophies at the end of the month. I suspect there won’t be many dry eyes in the stadium when the legendary keeper hangs up his gloves at full-time. Don’t be surprised if he dons the captain’s armband for this one, a fitting tribute if it materialises. Elsewhere in the midfield, it will be an unchanged backline of Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor from left to right. As much as it is tempting to shuffle the pack and give others the opportunity for some starting minutes, Celtic will want to get the job done quickly. After all, they can make changes in the second half to safeguard players from injury.
In the midfield, it will be the usual trio of captain Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley, with the very real prospect of this being the last home game for the latter pair if the transfer vultures start to swirl again. This will be the midfield that starts versus Rangers in the final, so it is important that they both keep up to speed and do not pick up any injuries. Expect fireworks yet again if this midfield three starts again, that’s for sure.
Up front, Adam Idah will continue to start for Celtic after his mightily impressive performance in Ayrshire the other night. I wonder if a deal will be struck with Norwich for his permanent services, especially due to his parent club’s hammering at the hands of Leeds on Thursday night in the play-offs. James Forrest and Daizen Maeda will accompany the Irishman on the right and left wing respectively, as the three look to cause more damage this week in the forward areas.
I predict Celtic will lift the Scottish Premiership in dominating fashion this weekend. Rodgers’ side to win at a canter in Glasgow, ahead of a massive week in the Scottish Cup.
Ryan’s team: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley; Forrest, Idah, Maeda

Celtic are champions...again. Ole, ole as they say. Rodgers has no worries, so he can be happy and enjoy the Trophy Day celebrations.
The $64,000 question for the Northern Irishman is whether or not to tinker with the starting side to face St Mirren. The 51-year has a long memory and in the aftermath of Rugby Park, he uttered these words: "I don’t like losing on trophy day when we lost to Aberdeen 1-0 (2018), I didn't like that at all. I want to finish the season stronger. Our whole idea was to sprint over the finishing line."
That would indicate that the manager intends to go full tilt and build up a head of steam until the final cup after the swashbuckling display against Kilmarnock. The job may be done... but the season isn't over yet. Mood music and momentum are important heading into a Scottish Cup final of such magnitude.
Whilst Trophy Day is for enjoying whatever team Rodgers decides to go with they still have to perform. With that in mind, it may well be an experimental side that takes to the field against the Saints tomorrow.
The man of the moment will be in between the sticks and hopefully, he will be made captain for the day. Hart will be in goal and be prepared for some blubbing in a 'Henrik-Larsson-style' as he plays the last league game of his illustrious career in Paradise. Ralston will play at right-back in order to give Johnston a rest whilst Scales will be partnered in central defence by Welsh as Carter-Vickers will be given the day off. Taylor will be in his usual berth at left-back.
In the midfield youngster Kelly will start alongside Portuguese under-21 international Bernardo and the duo will feature with skipper McGregor. Japanese midfielder Hatate and Danish international O'Riley will be excused from active service on a day when discretion is the best part of valour for Rodgers and his Celtic team.
Up front Idah will continue in attack where he has a chance of staking a real claim for a Scottish Cup final start. Kuhn and miracle man Madea will be the favoured wide options on the right and left respectively. Forrest has been a stellar performer in recent weeks but he will have a vitally important role to play at Hampden Park against Rangers in a week and will have to be content with a place on the subs bench.
Tony's team: Hart; Ralston, Scales, Welsh, Taylor; McGregor, Kelly, Bernardo; Kuhn, Idah, Maeda.
