Joe Hart - The veteran made a massive save at 1-0 to preserve Celtic’s lead on the day, with a header that looked destined for goal from the Hearts attacker. Had nothing to do apart from a couple of punches, which ensured another clean sheet for the outgoing keeper in his swansong. Calm but dominating from a tremendous servant, who deserves the send-off he will receive in just under a month's time. Who knows how big that early save will turn out to be, we will just have to wait and see on that one. 8

Alistair Johnston - After a quiet start to the game, the right-back began to stretch his legs, and was making a nuisance of himself against Alex Cochrane in the Hearts defence. A man who likes the rough and tumble of a feisty match, Johnston bombed forward and made runs constantly. He had no defending to do in the second half, which allowed him to break forward at will, doing so better tha Kuhn, his winger. A clean sheet and a good showing, Johnston is ready to tackle the Glasgow Derby with both feet, and it shows.  7

Cameron Carter-Vickers - Despite Hearts’ bright start to the game, the American had little to do in a defensive sense in the first half. He headed a chance just over the bar, which looked dangerous from a Celtic corner early on. Solid throughout and a colossus at the back, an excellent afternoon for Celtic’s and Scotland’s best defender, though not a surprise at this point. A captain without the armband is a good summation of the imposing stopper. A mammoth as always. 8

Liam Scales - Fresh from signing his new deal at the club, Scales looked to have sold the jerseys early on as he allowed his marker to get into the box and provide a cross to his attackers. Nothing came of this, and the rest of the first half was a breeze for the defender. His passing and distribution leaves a lot to be desired at times, but he did what was required at the back, which is the most important thing at this stage. A better second 45, the Irishman celebrated his extended terms with a clean sheet, which he’ll be delighted with. Solid enough. 7

Greg Taylor - Perhaps a victim of the early nerves in and around the stadium, the left-back looked shaky, which the visitors looked to get joy from. Nevertheless, he stabilised and began to really trouble Hearts by inverting, leaving Celtic with a man extra in the midfield. Improved following the restart, and was rewarded with another shutout for his efforts on both ends of the field. Solid from Celtic's number three, after a poor start to proceedings. 6

Callum McGregor - I don’t want to turn this into a constant bashing of the captain, but McGregor looks so far off it at the moment. He looks a couple of seconds off the pace, which Hearts thankfully did not capitalise on in the first half. A couple of nice passes, but a quiet opening 45 from Celtic’s number 42. That would change following the restart, as the skipper produced an incredible tackle following a breakaway from the visitors, with his challenge being as clean as a whistle two-thirds into the opponents’ half. Another 80 minutes in the tank for the captain, who had a much better 45 than the first. A strong finish from the midfielder, who will likely now start against Rangers next Saturday. Let's hope he can deliver once more. 7

Reo Hatate - the orchestrator for Celtic’s opening goal, his passing had been so poor before this assist! A player that continues to plunder on despite being dispossessed and slack on the ball, his delivery back into the box was perfect, which allowed Kyogo to convert easily for the game’s opener. He began to find his mojo, which meant he was a constant thorn in the side of Naismith’s side. Orchestrating the crowd at every set piece to up the noise, Hatate had fun in the second half, with his movement and passing causing Hearts all sorts of hassle as Celtic pushed on. Celtic’s most dynamic midfielder looks back to his best, and in good time, too. A scary proposition for Rangers and the rest of the league. 8

Matt O’Riley - Celtic’s best player outwith Kyogo in the first 45, O’Riley was a menace for Hearts’ whole team this afternoon. After a massive block from Shankland in the early moments, he produced perhaps the assist of the season to Kyogo with a distribution that Tom Brady would’ve been proud of. With interceptions, tackles and passes galore, he was a joy to watch in this match. Although Kyogo was awarded the man of the match award, those in attendance will vouch for the Dane instead. His most complete performance in months, he caused havoc for the duration, with his spot-kick producing the loudest cheer when he smashed it into Clark’s left-hand corner. Magical from Matt O’Riley, perhaps his best showing this season. A monstrous display from the man with the world at his feet, it would seem. An incredible showing. 10

Nicolas Kuhn - a quiet first half for the winger, who struggled to get into the game unlike his fellow winger in Forrest. He rallied in the second half slightly, though his impact was small at best, and was replaced in favour of Palma in the latter stages. Here’s hoping he’s saving his goals for next week against Rangers, as we know he is capable of showing up. More to come from the German wide-man, for sure. 6

Kyogo Furuhashi - Dry spell? What dry spell? Celtic’s main man was back in amongst the goals, scoring a brace thanks to two sublime deliveries from Hatate and O’Riley. His first was a great header, whilst his second was a side-foot finish, both that left Zander Clark with no chance of saving them. Always on the move, he came close to scoring his third in the second half, though his shot was saved at an angle from Clark. Kyogo looks back in business, and just in time, too. Clinical from the Japan striker. 9

James Forrest - Turning back the years, the veteran winger was sublime for the entire time he was on the park. Lembikisa marking him was having a nightmare with his drive and endeavour, with the winger even taking his turn at defending when the ball was with Hearts. A guaranteed starter against Rangers after today’s showing, Forrest looks like he is in the mood for another two trophies to add to his collection. A brilliant performance from the Scotland wide-man. 8

Subs:

Tomoki Iwata - Brought on to anchor the midfield to victory, the Japan destroyer was calm, composed and clear in his intentions. Rodgers knows he can trust him to close out games. Impressive. 5

Daizen Maeda - The miraculous return of Maeda was completed this afternoon, as the crowd went ballistic following his return to proceedings. He should have scored, too, if not for a great tackle by his marker at the last minute. So important for next week, it’s great to see ‘Duracell Daizen’ back. 5

Adam Idah - I wish every sub had the attitude of Idah when they came onto the park. Keen to get involved, his pressing and movement were a constant pain for Hearts to deal with. A clear signal of strength from the bench, this performance again showed why a permanent deal may have to be struck between the player, Celtic and Norwich. Very positive from the Ireland striker. 5

Luis Palma - came on for the last few minutes, his impact was a good one. Some nice crosses and moves came from the Honduran, as he looked far brighter than in recent showings. Promising from the much-maligned winger.  4

Paulo Bernardo - Came on very late, and didn’t really impact the game. Good to see him on the park. though. A dependable option. 2
