Celtic look to make it two wins on the bounce in the Scottish Premiership, as they take on Dundee at Dens Park on Boxing Day.

Following successive defeats to St Johnstone and Hearts respectively, Celtic managed to defeat Livingston 2-0 at Celtic Park last Saturday, in what was a routine win for the champions.

Next, they face Dundee, managed by former Aberdeen assistant manager Tony Docherty. In the reverse fixture, Celtic got the better of their opponents 3-0, thanks to second-half goals by David Turnbull, Matt O'Riley and Kyogo Furuhashi. Dundee's last match against Aberdeen was postponed just hours before it was due to kick off, with their last match an away win over Ross County at Dingwall.

After the routine 2-0 win over Livingston, it is now time for Celtic to keep their foot on the pedal from now until the winter break. Nine points out of nine is the only acceptable outcome for Rodgers and his men, so the team have to be at their best for this one.

With that in mind, I believe the same team that started against Livingston will take to the field for this one. Joe Hart did not have a save to make against David Martindale's men last time out, though he may be expecting a busier afternoon when 3 pm comes around at Dens Park.

In the heart of defence, Cameron Carter-Vickers will be partnered by Liam Scales, who both would have enjoyed a clean sheet on Saturday. They will be hoping for the same again, as the pair look a stick-on to start against Rangers on December 30. Elsewhere in the defence, there will be no changes to the full-back areas, as Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston will both continue to occupy their regular spots at left and right-back respectively.

Despite Paulo Bernardo failing to set the heather alight in his last appearance, I'm backing the midfielder to start again in the midfield. In an away game where you need midfielders to battle and run for the ball, Bernardo can do this far better than Turnbull, who may even leave the club due to his contractual situation next month. The two other areas in midfield - for good or for bad - are already spoken for, as captain Callum McGregor and O'Riley will both play together once again in the Celtic engine room once again. After a couple of games where the captain was playing further forward due to the inclusion of Tomoki Iwata, the latter's injury has caused McGregor to drop back, perhaps to his detriment, in all honesty. 

Into the forward areas, and it will be Kyogo who will lead the line for Celtic after finally ending his goal drought at the club. He will be hoping to get back on the scoresheet for the club, ahead of the Rangers game on Saturday. Joining him will be Luis Palma on the left and Daizen Maeda on the right, as Rodgers will go with the exact same team as he did against Livingston. For Maeda especially, his return to full fitness will be paramount heading into the Glasgow Derby, as will Palma's ever-growing goal contributions this season.

Celtic to win by a few here, as they will do their part to set up the Glasgow Derby on Saturday with another comfortable win.

One down, three to go, as Celtic got the Christmas present they desperately wanted with a badly needed 2-0 win over Livingston after back-to-back-league defeats.

Whilst it wasn't a vintage display by the champions, results are all that matters in an unforgiving month. It may well be the most wonderful time of the year but Rodgers and company will only truly believe that if they can reel off another three successive victories before the break. The green and white bandwagon rolls onto Tayside with Dundee lying in wait at Dens Park.

There were still some positives to take from the weekend win over Livi and with that in mind, the Northern Irishman might not want to tinker too much with the winning formula. Hart will start in between the sticks with Johnston and Taylor deployed in the right and left back berths respectively. Carter-Vickers will clock up appearance number 101 alongside Scales whose first goal of the Rodgers era put the issue to bed on Saturday.

In the midfield, it will be the same triumvirate that started in Glasgow's east end, with McGregor and O'Riley being joined in the engine room by Bernardo.

Up front, Rodgers will be thrilled that Kyogo Furuhashi rediscovered his scoring boots as well as displaying the predator's nous for sniffing out a goal. The Japanese talisman may well have signalled his return to goalscoring form at a crucial time for himself and his team. Kyogo will spearhead the attack with Maeda given another outing on the right wing to get his match sharpness up to speed despite looking a tad ring-rusty against the Lions. Double assister Palma will be utilised on the left flank, and he will be asked to produce more of the same from the wide areas.

Celtic to win by a couple of goals to spare again. Take Kyogo to bag another counter just in time for his confidence levels to rise ahead of the vital Glasgow derby clash on December 30th.
