Celtic are back in league action, as they look to pick up their first Scottish Premiership win in three games against Livingston at Celtic Park.

It has been a long seven days since Brendan Rodgers' side last took to the field of play, a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hearts last Saturday. Because of this, Celtic have had plenty of time to lick their wounds ahead of this match.

As mentioned previously, Celtic go into this game in poor form domestically, though they did manage a win against Feyenoord in the Champions League, sandwiched in between their two consecutive league defeats. For David Martindale's side, it has been a tough season, with his side five points adrift at the foot of the table. They did manage to pick up a goalless draw against Kilmarnock at home, though they were defeated 2-1 in midweek thanks to a double from the Celtic-linked Bojan Miovski.

With the Green Brigade set to return following an agreement between themselves and the club on Friday, it will be sure to be a noisy and passionate crowd for the last home before both Christmas and that Glasgow Derby on December 30.

With all of that being said, who will Rodgers elect to start on Saturday afternoon? The Celtic Way's Tony Haggerty and Ryan McGinlay have their say...

For a club that has lost their last two league games, there seems to be a bit of an air of positivity around the club, thanks to the imminent return of the Green Brigade to Celtic Park.

The ultras group have been a big miss to proceedings and will bring the atmosphere back to what has been a quiet Parkhead ever since their suspension a few months back. Now that everyone is once again singing from the same hymn sheet, Rodgers' side must take that good feeling off of the park and translate it to on-field matters.

Speaking of the side, who will start in this one? One thing is definite, and that is Joe Hart in goals for the club. He could do nothing to stop either of the goals he conceded last week against Hearts. Elsewhere in the defence, Cameron Carter-Vickers will be joined by Liam Scales once again in the heart of the defence. Rodgers could spring a surprise or two in this area, but I believe that he will continue to go for the tried and trusted for this match. He will do the same concerning the full-backs, as Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston will occupy the left and right-back spots in the team. As much as there is a temptation to go with Mitchel Frame, the Scottish Cup tie against Buckie Thistle may be a better avenue to go down regarding his further introduction into the first team.

Midfield is where there seems to be the biggest question marks, especially in that third spot in the team. As usual, captain Callum McGregor will start, as will star player Matt O'Riley. The question is: who will join the pair in the engine room? David Turnbull would be the obvious choice - though his Hearts performance was shocking - but I reckon the manager will elect to go with Paulo Bernardo for this one. In an ideal world, Tomoki Iwata would be fit, which would allow McGregor to move further forward. Unfortunately, the Japan midfielder is still out, which means the legs and drive of Bernardo will be preferred to Turnbull's technical ability.

Quite simply put, Kyogo Furuhashi MUST lead the line for this game. Eight goals this season for Celtic's hitman is far too low for this stage of the season, and he must get his shooting boots on in the next few games, ahead of a mammoth game against Rangers on December 30. This game could be the perfect fixture to do just that.

Luis Palma will play to the left of the striker, whilst Maeda will play on the right. The winger's work-rate and drive have been missed dearly in recent weeks, so his return may very well be the difference in the upcoming games. He must start this game ahead of the likes of Yang Hyun-jun and especially Mikey Johnston. In Palma's case, he must return to the form that had people comparing him to the man he replaced in Jota. A mixture of goals and assists would certainly hit the spot tomorrow.

Nothing but a resounding win is acceptable in this game. It is up to Rodgers and his side to hop back on the saddle and get motoring again in this domestic season.

It is broken and in desperate need of fixing. Rodgers does not have his problems to seek as Celtic look to put an end to their recent domestic woes.

Back-to-back league defeats for the first time in a decade is not what the Celtic faithful thought would happen this season. After a week of soul-searching, reflection and no doubt some home truths it is time for Rodgers and his men to come out swinging against Livingston. With that in mind, the Northern Irishman may be tempted to ring some changes for the visit of the West Lothian outfit.

In goal will be Hart and he will be ably assisted by Johnston at right-back and young Frame will get the nod to make his first competitive start in this one in place of Taylor at left-back. It will be as you were in central defence with Carter-Vickers partnering Scales.

In midfield, McGregor and O'Riley will get the nod but who to play alongside them is the 64,000 dollar question. Rodgers has mixed-and-matched so far this campaign with nobody claiming the jersey outright in the absence of Japanese playmaker Hatate. The Northern Irishman may be tempted to give Portuguese midfielder Bernardo another go in the hope that he can be the talent that his manager professes he possesses.

Up front, Maeda will start on the right whilst Palma will be deployed on the left flank and Kyogo will spearhead the attack and lead the line as he attempts to end his goalscoring drought which has seen him net just one goal in his last 12 outings. That represents his worst run of form since he pitched up in Glasgow.  

The smart money is on that run ending and Celtic putting on a real show in front of the Green Brigade, which will be a most welcome sight for everybody connected with the club.
