It's a full midweek card in the Scottish Premiership as Celtic take on St Mirren tonight looking to bounce back immediately after drawing a blank against Hibs at Easter Road at the weekend.

The 0-0 stalemate in the capital saw Brendan Rodgers' men lead at the top of the table reduced from seven points to just five.

The champions welcome Stephen Robinson's high-flying Buddies to Parkhead with the visitors travelling to Glasgow in high spirits after a 4-0 win over St Johnstone saw them move just three points behind second-placed Rangers with a game in hand.

The Northern Irishman was full of praise for his compatriot before the game and said: "I think he [Robinson] has proven himself to be an excellent manager/coach.

"When I was up here the first time he did a very good job with Motherwell. He got them to the League and the Scottish Cup finals and that was a fantastic achievement. His teams were always hard to play against. You look now coming into St Mirren and it is the same idea he has got them well organised. They are working very hard and you can see they are very much a team. They are always very competitive.

"He's an excellent manager and did really well. I look forward to seeing him on Wednesday and we will expect a tough match."

Can Celtic get back to winning ways against the Buddies? Will the Paisley side suffer the proverbial backlash from Celtic?

It also remains to be seen what the atmosphere inside Celtic Park will be like after the club's hierarchy announced that they had placed a ban on the clubs Ultras section 'The Green Brigade' with immediate effect due to "serious safety concerns" as well as what they deemed "repeated incidents of unacceptable conduct."

The Parkhead ultras were already locked out of away fixtures but will now be unable to attend home matches as well. Rodgers and the Celtic players will be hoping that the squabbles off the field with the fans and the club hierarchy do not extend to matters on the field.
