Odin Thiago Holm is making quite the name for himself both on and off the pitch at Celtic.

A 20-minute cameo during the champions' 3-1 Scottish Premiership victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie had the fans purring and begging to see more. Holm joined Celtic from Valerenga on a five-year deal in July and became Rodgers' first signing since returning to the Scottish Premiership champions. He bagged 13 goals for the Oslo-based team in 91 matches and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting talents in European football.

Thiago Holm has featured in both Premiership outings thus far this season after also clocking up six minutes of first-team action during flag day in the 4-2 win over Ross County. The Norwegian midfielder even earned high praise from Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers after his turn in the Granite City and the Northern Irishman reckons he could have a big future in Paradise.

Rodgers said: "Odin's a good player. He’s going to really show his talent as he goes through his time at Celtic. He’s a fantastic footballer. He’s got an edge, he can see a pass, he can move well."

No sooner had Rodgers uttered those words when Holm took to Instagram and appeared to aim a dig at a Aberdeen defender as he posted a picture of him leaving the Reds player trailing in his wake with the caption: "Bitch he humble, sit down #3p"

Its lyrics are taken from a song called 'HUMBLE' by rapper Kendrick Lamar. Holm has since deleted the comment. It's one thing to make people sit up and take notice of what you're doing with your displays in the park but having others being made aware because of your antics off it then that's a different matter entirely.One can only conjecture that there may well have been some intervention by the Celtic media team or ever Rodgers himself for that matter.

The Celtic manager is big on respect. He's even bigger on being disrespectful to others. Whether Holm's Instagram post falls into the disrespectful or banter category is one for the individual football fan to make up their own mind about. Holm deleting the entry suggests that it falls into the former category and he has wisely acted upon sage advice to take it down.

All of this brings us back to Thiago Holm's abilities as a footballer. Next up for Celtic is the start of the defence of their League Cup and a tricky trip to face Kilmarnock. After defeating Rangers on the season's opening day, they might well fancy their chances of springing an upset against Rodgers' side, who are still adapting to the new manager's philosophy and style after having two years of Ange Postecoglou drilled into the Celtic psyche.

This is why the upcoming League Cup clash at Rugby Park could be the ideal game to unleash Holm. With Reo Hatate carrying a calf injury and not needing to be risked in Ayrshire then, the dilemma for Rodgers may well be which of the engine room sits this one Matt O'Riley has bagged two goals in two games which have seen him hit the ground running and he looks a certain starter.

David Turnbull was impressive in pre-season and against the Staggies but was hooked against Aberdeen at half-time. Then there is captain fantastic Callum McGregor. Is this game tailor-made for the skipper to have a rest? It could well be, you know, and in that case, step forward Holm.

When Thiago Holm signed on the dotted line for Celtic, he said: "I think I'm a creative player that likes a bit of freedom to play on my instincts with the final pass, scoring goals, assists. I like to play as number eight or 10 offensively. It's not going to be easy. I want to perform and be part of the first XI after some time. I'm really excited to start and play for the fans."

The early signs have been more than promising. He has the Celtic fans buzzing in the stands and they are now mentioning his name in despatches. Thiago Holm has good movement, is excellent on the ball, has a keen eye for a pass, and has a bit of dig about him. He even has a bit of steel and nastiness and aggression that is needed in the engine room, particularly Celtic's.

The player possesses real quality as the Celtic manager opined. He looks every inch a fantastic footballer with an 'edge'. He looks like a proper footballer who could well be hammering on Rodgers' door, begging for a regular starting slot soon enough. Hollm could take some shifting once he gets presented with that first-team opportunity. This is why Rodgers could be tempted to throw him in for his first Celtic start against Kilmarnock to see exactly what he brings to the table. Fans would undoubtedly love to see him thrive in that highly competitive environment as Rodgers' men put their treble on the line in the third game of the season.

It seems like the ultimate no-brainer for the Northern Irishman. It's time to see if Holm can step up to the competitive plate. This is the dream scenario for Rodgers to give Thiago Holm the chance has craved since putting pen to paper at Parkhead. As player himself said: "I don't think people in Norway understand how big the club is. Valerenga is a club from the capital with 10,000. I didn't really think, I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. It's Champions League, you play to win every game, it's a big club."

Even before he signed for Celtic, his mind was focusing on the Champions League. That's the kind of mindset that will certainly please the boss man. All this stuff with Instagram might not. However, Thiago Holm may well get a taste of the big time come Sunday in Ayrshire. In the process, Rodgers can turn 'Les Miserables' among the fans into 'Les Joyeux' by giving the Norwegian the nod to make his first start. In a way, you could say that Rodgers is about to 'Bring Him Holm'.
