Celtic travel to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen off the back of a winning start to the season against Ross County.

The Scottish champions defeated the Staggies 4-2 to go three points clear at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, Barry Robson's side struggled to a 0-0 draw away to Livingston. However, the Dons had a strong end to last season which saw them guarantee European group-stage football for the first time since 2008.

Players like Duk and Leighton Clarkson will provide a threat as Aberdeen look to get their league campaign up and running.

Brendan Rodgers has some decisions to make in terms of his team selection.

Who will he pick? Our writers have their say...

It ain't broken, so it doesn't necessarily need to be fixed. Sterner tests await Rodgers' men and they don't come much tougher than a trip to the Granite City to face a rejuvenated Reds under Robson.

The Hoops will have their work cut out if they are to emerge victorious in this one, but Pittodrie has been a happy hunting ground for the Hoops of late and there appears no reason as to why the three points will not be Glasgow bound come Sunday afternoon.

Joe Hart will remain in goal and he will be beside a back four of Anthony Ralston on the right and Greg Taylor on the left and the central defensive pairing of Cameron Carter-Vickers and last week's debutant Maik Nawrocki.

In the midfield, the $64,000 question will inevitably be: will Reo Hatate come back into the side and displace either Matt O'Riley or David Turnbull?

The answer is no and the status quo will be preserved in the engine room, as last week's two-goal hero will remain in situ alongside skipper Callum McGregor and fellow goalscorer against the Staggies, O'Riley.

In attack, it will be the same three players with Liel Abada on the right flank and Daizen Maeda patrolling the left wing and Kyogo being deployed in the withdrawn centre-forward position in order to help link the play to the onrushing midfielders.

Despite Celtic’s stellar recent record in Aberdeen, their trip to Pittodrie represents Rodgers’ first real test since returning as manager. It will be interesting to see how he elects to line up his team for this one.

In goals, Hart will remain, despite producing another shaky display on the opening day of the season. As things stand, no one is challenging him for that jersey, so he gets in by default. Ralston and Taylor will occupy their respective full-back spots, but it will be interesting to see if Bernabei is named in the travelling squad after news broke of his latest discipline problems. It is pretty much a copy-and-paste job in the centre of defence too, as Carter-Vickers will be joined by Nawrocki in this area of the blackline. The Polish stopper now becomes a bona fide first-pick for Rodgers at this present moment, given the departure of Starfelt to Celta Vigo.

In the midfield, McGregor will be joined by a returning Hatate alongside him in the double pivot, despite Turnbull’s brace against Ross County. In the toughest away games, you play your best players, so the Japanese midfielder should return for this one. O’Riley will occupy the furthest midfield role after a standout performance on Flag Day. He will be looking to provide and contribute to everything positive Celtic do on the attacking side of proceedings.

No new attacking incomings mean that Maeda will occupy the left-wing position. Meanwhile, Abada will play on the right. This means that Kyogo will again lead the line for Celtic whilst also dropping deep to get involved in the midfield play when he is isolated. This front three of attackers should cause Robson’s side problems in what is sure to be an entertaining match at lunchtime on Sunday.

Recent comments from the manager have arguably called into question the future of some players. None more so than Bernabei and Hatate. While the Argentinian was never a regular starter, the Japan international has been a revelation since signing for the club. As a result, neither player will be involved from the outset at Pittodrie.

Hart will begin the fixture between the sticks. He suffered a couple of shaky moments during the victory over Ross County, but he remains the first-choice goalkeeper unless a replacement is brought in.

Ralston will continue at right-back with Alistair Johnston still out injured. He will also get the nod over Tomoki Iwata as this game is likely to be a physical battle. The central defensive pairing of Carter-Vickers and Nawrocki will continue, given the departure of Starfelt. Taylor will once again start at left-back as he looks to recapture last season's form.

The double-pivot will be interesting in the middle of the park as Hatate, who once would have been a guaranteed starter, now appears likely to begin the game against Aberdeen on the bench. It will be the same as last weekend, with McGregor and O'Riley starting in these roles.

In front of them will once again be Abada on the right-hand side and Turnbull as the number 10 after his two goals last week. The only change will be Yang Hyun-jun getting his first start to replace Maeda. Yang has looked encouraging in his cameos so far and this also allows Maeda to fulfil the role of backup striker from the bench in the absence of Oh Hyeon-gyu.

Kyogo will lead the line through the middle to build on his goal and excellent performance from the opening day.
