Alexandro Bernabei is set to leave Celtic for Brazil, according to reports.

It's claimed the full-back is close to sealing a loan exit - with a purchase option - from Parkhead after missing out on a transfer in January.

Bernabei, 23, joined Celtic in June 2022 for a fee in the region of £3.75m but failed to nail down a spot in the starting line-up.

The Argentine was unable to dislodge Greg Taylor at full-back and has played just nine times for Celtic this season.

Bernabei was expected to seek a transfer exit in January - despite having three years left on his Parkhead contract - but no move was agreed.

However, reports in Brazil now suggest Bernabei is ready to finalise a move to SC Internacional.

Transfer specialist Cesar Luis Merlo claims sources have confirmed the switch is already a done deal - but it has yet to be confirmed by the clubs.

Merlo posted on X: "Alexandro Bernabei is Inter's new reinforcement . He arrives from Glasgow Celtic.

"Sources from Scotland confirm that it is already a #TratoHecho [done deal]."

The move would leave Celtic light at left-back with just Taylor a natural in the position, however, Liam Scales previously played in the role at Parkhead and on loan at Aberdeen.

Academy graduate Adam Montgomery is out injured having had a loan spell at Motherwell cut short due to to a "serious injury".
