Mikey Johnston has scored again for West Brom...and it was another screamer.

The Celtic winger has found his form on loan in the English Championship after moving last month.

And he has bagged his third goal in just his seventh outing for West Brom.

The 24-year-old added to his tally in style as he opened the scoring against Coventry with a sensational effort.

Johnston picked up the ball on the left flank and jinked past two defenders before lashing the ball into the far corner.

The Republic of Ireland international had already caught the eye with a terrific solo effort against Plymouth but left commentators speechless with his latest strike.

On Sky Sports one commentator said: "Magical from Mikey Johnston. Out in the cold in Scotland, warming to the task in the Championship in England."

And another added: "Well, out in the cold in Scotland, out of this world in England. That is brilliant, absolutely brilliant."

Johnston previously claimed Brendan Rodgers wanted him to stay at Celtic in the January transfer window but the winger chose to seek game time.

 "I think [Rodgers] probably would have kept me if it was up to him," he said. "But I think we had nine wingers at the end so I think it would have been harsh had they made me stay.

"He was great with me to be honest with you and I think he wants the best for me so obviously coming here was that.

"I would have loved to be starting every week at Celtic but this is another massive club I have come to so it does not feel like a step down.

"I am obviously playing in a good league as well and it is important for my career.

“I am here now and I just want to make an impact and cross that bridge when I come to it. I want to make an impact and help the team get to the play-offs."
