Celtic have confirmed Mark Lawwell and Joe Dudgeon have resigned from the club in a short statement.

Head of recruitment Lawwell - son of Celtic chairman Peter - has called time on his spell at the club after joining from the City Football Group in 2022.

The experienced scout was recruited by Ange Postecoglou - according to the official Celtic club statement - and worked closely alongside the now Tottenham manager.

But he is now on gardening leave until the end of the season when he will then leave the club to pursue a fresh challenge.

First team scout Dudgeon will also leave the club after just over a year at Celtic having also moved to Glasgow from the City Football Group.

Celtic confirmed the departures in a post on the club website this afternoon.

Celtic Football Club today announced that Mark Lawwell, Head of First Team Scouting and Recruitment, and Joe Dudgeon, Lead First Team Scout, have resigned from their positions and are leaving the Club to pursue fresh challenges.  
 
Mark was recruited to the Club by then manager, Ange Postecoglou, in May 2022 from his position as Head of CFG Scouting and Recruitment, within City Football Group’s global structure.  

Joe joined from City Football Group in November 2022. Mark and Joe will be on a period of gardening leave.
