While it may not be the popular view shared among the majority of Celtic fans, some have called for Brendan Rodgers to be sacked after the club dropped to second in the Premiership. 

The weekend's results saw Rangers leapfrog their arch-Glasgow rivals at the league's summit after they fully capitalised on the champions dropping points to Kilmarnock on home soil.

Rodgers has come in for some hefty flak after the 1-1 draw with Derek McInnes' side, with boos audible at full-time following David Watson's 92nd-minute equaliser.

The manager's tactics and team selection have been called into question by supporters. 

And one fan made his vociferous feelings known when calling into Clyde Superscoreboard last night. Stewart demanded that the club remove Rodgers from his position in order to salvage the title, with Rangers now in pole position to clinch the crown

However, Motherwell midfielder Andy Halliday had a differing opinion.

The on-loan Hearts player said: "I think calls for Rodgers to leave or walk away are way over the top for me. I'm also fully conscious that their next game is against Motherwell - so I am fully expecting a better Celtic team next week.

"But I don't think Celtic's issues can be pointed in one direction whether that be the manager, the board, or the players. I think that it is spread across the board really.

"I think they have lost that ruthless streak they had last year - where if they go one up they quickly get a second. I think we are now seeing them be pretty wasteful - not only in an attacking sense but in both boxes."

And it was at this point that Gordon Duncan invited the caller to suggest who could replace Rodgers should he be shown the door - with underfire West Ham boss David Moyes his first pick.

He replied: "The names that come to my mind are David Moyes and Steve Clarke would also be a potential one with the Euros coming up. Off the top of my head, there are not too many."
