Celtic will reportedly have to pay £3million if they want to land striker Adam Idah on a permanent deal.

The Ireland international joined the Hoops on deadline day on loan until the end of the season from Norwich City with no option to buy included in the deal.

And the Irish Mirror claims that it would take around £3million to sign the forward from the English Championship side.

Norwich City have a similar deal in place with Bologna for Sydney van Hooijdonk after they brought in Idah's replacement on loan.

The 22-year-old provided an assist for fellow new signing Nicolas Kuhn during Celtic's 1-1 draw at Pittodrie.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers is delighted for old friend Neil Warnock after his appointment as Aberdeen manager.

The veteran coach, 75, yesterday took over at Pittodrie until the end of the season as he replaced Barry Robson.

The former Sheffield United, Cyrstal Palace and QPR manager, among various other teams, will take charge of his first game tonight, which comes against Rangers at Ibrox.

Rodgers has come up against Warnock plenty of times during his career in England.

And the Celtic boss is quite sure he will enjoy his taste of Scottish football, as he name-dropped things like pitches and referees as examples of things he'll get used to.

"He's good value, Neil, aye," Rodgers commented. "I've come across him a few times and have always been in contact with him. I won't be going until that age I know that for sure.

"He's wanted to be up here for a long time, so now he's up. He'll see what the pitches are like, he'll see what the media is like and he'll see what the refereeing is like.

"He'll enjoy. He's going to have a great time. I sent him a message and wished him good luck.

"What he'll have is good people up here and he'll enjoy it. It's real football.

"He'll love it. He's at the stage where he's had a brilliant career, managed so many games and teams, and obviously this was something that he hadn't done. So, he'll come up here, he'll love everything about it and I'm sure he'll enjoy."
