Gustaf Lagerbielke is reportedly set to stay at Celtic.

The Scottish Sun reports that Lecce have resigned themselves to missing out on the Sweden international. 

The 23-year-old was closing in on a move to the Serie A club earlier this week.

However, concerns over the injury record of Cameron Carter-Vickers saw Brendan Rodgers pull the plug on the deal.

Lagerbielke arrived in Glasgow from Elfsborg for a fee of around £3m in the summer.

It's reported that Lecce are 90 percent certain they won't land him before Italy's 7pm deadline.

It comes as a major blow for the player who yesterday admitted he was keen on the move.

He said: "Lecce has shown a very strong interest in me. I want to go, play and make a difference.

"All footballers dream of playing in the big leagues. And I have dreamed of Serie A since I was a child.

"Many Scandinavian footballers have played in Lecce, this would be an advantage in terms of settling in."

Meanwhile, Celtic are 'open to offers' for lifetime servant James Forrest, it has been claimed.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook states that it's set to be a busy day at Parkhead in terms of outgoings.

David Turnbull is set to complete his £2m move to Championship side Cardiff, while West Brom are closing in on Mikey Johnston.

However, the shock update regarding the Hoops is that Forrest - the club's longest-serving player - could well be away.

Crook tweeted: "Busy day of exits at #Celtic with David Turnbull set to join #CardiffCity and Mikey Johnston moving to #WBA on loan.

"Also told they are open to offers for long-serving James Forrest."

Forrest, 34, has struggled for game time since Brendan Rodgers returned as manager in the summer. 

He's featured just 18 times this campaign, mainly from the bench in cameo appearances.
