Everything that Brendan Rodgers said to Celtic TV after his side were held 1-1 at home by Motherwell

The captain summed it up as frustrating. Did Celtic let two points slip away at the end?

Yes. There is no doubt about that. When you have as much as the ball as we had we probably didn't create as much as we would have wanted. We had 80 per cent possession in the game and I would expect us to create more than that. We had opportunities as we got two penalties and we had other opportunities in front of the goal but we just weren't clinical enough today. The players gave everything. The effort, commitment and drive was there to get the goals but it was just that decisive moment from the corner which was a big disappointment.

Do you make any allowances for the international break and people travelling all around the world. Does that play a factor in the tempo at all?

It can do. It was just one of those where Motherwell were here to defend so they sat in deep and we were playing the game in their final third of the field. You can talk about freshness but is no excuse as we have to do better than that.

The goal that Celtic concede has come from the only chance of the half for Motherwell. Has a little bit of organisation been lost around the goal when Motherwell threw some big bodies on a minute or so before the corner?

I think they flooded our box with an extra man but we should still deal with it. The ball gets sent in and it arrives in our six-yard box and it drops and hits their guy and trickles over the line. It is one of those ones where we have to be better in that moment. Whether it is down to organisation or whatever you have to see that. Corners for or against are the decisive moments in the game as they can win and lose you a game or cost you points. That moment was not what we wanted.

The players will be down at the momentHow do you pick them up for the Champions League game in midweek?

It is very easy. It is something that we do. We will get in and recover as it is a very honest group of players. We are all disappointed that we haven't picked up all three points especially being in a really good position in the game and that is something we have to be better at. We have no time to dwell on it as we will go again in training tomorrow (Sun) and get our plan ready for Tuesday.
