Everything Brendan Rodgers said to Sky after the game.

It was a fast start today. How much did that set the tone for the game?

It was always very important and it is our idea to start fast in every game and the players scored a couple of really good goals.

When you look at that you could have had more in the first half but does that show the desire at the end when you get three in stoppage time?

Yes. I think the substitutes coming into the game had a great impact for us. They kept the energy in the game and we scored two in the first half and could have had more. We didn't concede and Jonny Hayes had one opportunity from a throw-in and he broke through and shot wide. Apart from that I thought our positioning was really good in the game and some of our combination play was outstanding.

Luis Palma was given the man of the match what did you make of his performance overall?

He was very, very good. He showed variety and he showed he is developing here as did Yang getting his goal at the back post. Normally you see wingers on the outside looking in but both of those guys contributed really well. He is a very talented player, Luis, he can create a goal and score a goal and he did that for us.

Yang was excellent too, how is he as he had to come off?

He is okay. I think he got a blow just below his left eye but he will be fine I'm sure.

With Daizen Maeda out, it is a good opportunity for him to claim that starting berth, isn't it?

Listen, we play so many games and all you want to do is make sure when you do play that you contribute. You can see him developing all the time. His assurance in the game and not losing the ball and when he first came he maybe felt that he had to beat a man and lost the ball too many times. Now the variety in his game is good and he has got good quality and he works very, very hard and he is now getting into areas that will allow him to score goals.

How is Kyogo?

It wasn't great for him and it was a nasty blow. He will not travel to Japan and he will stay here and recover and the medical team will make sure he is okay.

Do you think it was a clash of heads or was it a bit more aggressive than that?

I haven't seen it back and I only saw it in match time and it looked a really sore one.

On the back of what happened in midweek how good is to go into the international break with this win today?

Very good. Aberdeen are a strong and tough team. They are very difficult to play against especially away from home as they have got some really good results. So for us to score six goals, keep a clean sheet and be as creative as we were and disciplined is the mark of a good team. We had the pain during the week but we dusted ourselves and produced a really good performance. I'm really happy as it was a good win.
