New Celtic midfielder Kwon Hyeok-kyu has welcomed comparisons linking him with Manchester City star Rodri.
The South Korean, who signed this week from Busan IPark on a five-year deal, says he appreciates the comparisons with the holding midfielder but is concentrated on carving out his own legacy at the club.
He told the Daily Mail: “I am very happy to hear these compliments, but I know that I still have a long way to go to become a player like Rodri. I think I can improve a lot at Celtic and one day I want to become not Celtic Rodri but Celtic Kwon.
“I’m the type of player who can do very hard pressing and give pressure to the opponent. I’m very good at intercepting balls and also building play by giving the ball to more attacking midfield players.”
Former Gangwon FC winger Kwon was announced as a Celtic player on the same day as fellow South Korean Yang Hyun-jun, who also signed a five-year contract with the club.
They will both join up with countryman Oh Hyeon-gyu, who joined the club in January from Suwon Samsung Bluewings in the K League 1 and has scored seven times in 21 appearances so far.

Meanwhile, Former Celtic kid Karamoko Dembele is on the radar of an English Championship team.
Reports have suggested Blackburn are tracking the 20-year-old.
The winger moved to France last summer, departing the Hoops on a free for Stade Brestois. He went on to make 15 appearances in Ligue 1.
However, it would appear that another move could be on the cards after only one year in the French top flight.
L’Équipe report that Blackburn is 'closely following' the young attacker's progress.
They say that the Championship outfit has made an initial contract with Brest, although no offer has been put on the table yet.
The report also states that the French side does hope to keep him as part of the first team, but they wouldn't be against selling him after only one year.
The London-born forward came through Celtic's academy and was regarded as the next top prospect in Scottish football.
He joined aged 10 in 2013, and went viral online a few years later after clips emerged of his skills and goals. Aged 13, Brendan Rodgers even invited Dembele to train with his first team at Lennoxtown.
