Mikael Lustig insists he couldn't have picked a better manager to replace Ange Postecoglou at Celtic than Brendan Rodgers.
The Parkhead hero reckons Rodgers can once again achieve huge success in the dugout in Glasgow.
After all, former Sweden international Lustig cites Rodgers as the best manager he ever worked under in his playing career.
However, that's not to say Rodgers is an automatic upgrade to treble-winning Celtic manager Postecoglou who moved to Spurs in the summer.
For Lustig, it's a tricky comparison as he discussed the "amazing" progress under Postecoglou at Celtic.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Lustig explained: “When Ange came in no-one really knew who he was. And he was taking over a team that we thought might be going to struggle for a couple of years. We didn’t know some of the players he was bringing in either.

“To do what Ange has been doing for these two years has been amazing. So it’s really difficult for me to say if Brendan is going to be an upgrade or not but what I do know is that I couldn’t have picked a better manager for the job than Brendan Rodgers. He is absolutely the best manager that I have ever worked under.”
Lustig went on to reveal the main factor in Rodgers' coaching which led to success at Celtic; instilling a "proper belief" in the squad.
He added: “There were so many times when he would tell us how to play against a certain team and every time he was proven right. Every time. So, for me, when he speaks about an upcoming game you just sit there and think, ‘OK we’re going to have a really good chance to win the game, this guy knows what he’s doing!’.
“That’s the main thing he gives to the players – a proper belief in everything they do.”
