Rangers record goalscorer Ally McCoist has labelled the VAR decision to award Dundee United a penalty against Celtic 'scandalous'.
The Tangerines earned a spot kick after Hoops defender Alexandro Bernabei was penalised for handball after a lengthy VAR check at Parkhead on Saturday.
Left-back Bernabei was mid-air at the time the ball struck his arm, having jumped to head the ball away. He was booked by referee David Dickinson in the aftermath.
In a Sky Sports debate, McCoist's fellow former Rangers striker Kris Boyd asserted that the decision was correct, saying: "It did Joe Hart a favour, it gave him an opportunity to save because it was going into the back of the net.
"All day long, he (Bernabei) saved it. He saved it. It was going into the back of the net."
But McCoist disagreed with that take, insisting: "Can I bring a bit of sanity into this? If we're given penalties for that then the game is gone.
"Some of the decisions we've seen for handballs, north and south of the border, are absolutely scandalous."
