Everything that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers said to BBC Radio Scotland after the 5-0 Scottish Premiership win over Ross County...

How would you describe your team's performance today?

I thought it was a complete performance. I said before the game that this was a game that we did not want to wait on. We had to go and create possibilities and I thought we were outstanding in that front. It was pleasing again to see the pressing mentality and the hunger in the team to get the ball and two of our goals came from a transitional game when we were in possession and lost it and then won the ball back very quickly and that creates opportunities for us to score. In the second half, we could have had the same but you have to give credit to Ross County. They defended well and the goalkeeper made some great saves and we hit the crossbar and post. For a complete 90 minutes that was so good. For the players to show that hunger on the backend of a really tough Champions League game in midweek, I was so proud of them.

You were able to make six changes and it is quite a statement to be 5-0 up at half-time. What a performance from the players that you brought in and they delivered for you, didn't they?

I think all the guys who came in can be... if you want to call them starters. Liam Scales can play in the team, Alex Valle can play in the team, the two 8s (Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo) can play in the team, and Adam Idah can play in the team. It's what you want we need that competition and energy as we put so much into the games in terms of intensity and the speed in which we play. You have to have fresh legs and you could see that today when we brought those guys in it didn't disrupt the rhythm of the team and it energised the team and all the guys who came in absolutely fantastic.

Luke McCowan was very impressive and it was his first start since October. Did he deliver exactly what you were hoping for?

Luke has settled in well. He has had to be patient and he can't play in the cup games. He was due to come on in the last couple of games and then we had to make changes because of little injuries in the game. He gets his reward for how hard he works and that tells me everything about him. He hasn't played for a length of time but for 70-odd minutes he was so good. His pressing, energy and quality were so good and I am so pleased for him.

You like to develop players and develop teams, so from that point of view, you will be pleased with how things are going. Is it a case of just asking the players for more?

Yes, that is the challenge. We won 1-0 here 12 months ago against Ross County and got booed off. That is the standard and the level of performance that you need at Celtic. It is not just about the scoreboard, it is about the level of the game. When you look 12 months on you can see the level of performance and the result that tells you it is moving in the direction that we want it to.

It sets things up rather nicely for you for the trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen and it was a fantastic game here that finished 2-2. It is going to take some team to stop Celtic on this current form, isn't it?

We need to analyse this game and recover and look at the areas where we could have been better. We will take the confidence of how we have been playing into our next game. Whatever time of the year you go to Pittodrie it is always a tough game but you can see that the team is ready and the mentality is strong and we will go there ready to play our football and try to get to the level that we want to.

The buy-in you are getting from the players must please you. You spoke about a year ago but I don't think Santa is going to get booed this year, is he?

Hopefully, not! That was a challenging little period for us last year. The game is all about development and improvement and we have seen the improvement in this team and the squad. They are all very set on how to work and the mentality it takes to play and have the robustness to win and win. I am so pleased and we have just got to continue with that mentality.
