Chris Sutton reckons Philippe Clement needs a miracle to get Rangers back on track in the title race this season.

The Parkhead favourite jokingly warned the Ibrox manager to 'start praying' as he was quizzed on how Clement can correct recent struggles.

Sutton watched as Rangers struggled against Dundee at Dens Park last night with the match ending in a goalless draw.

The result pushes Dundee closer to St Mirren in fifth, but for Rangers it leaves a three-point gap to league leaders Celtic with just five matches remaining.

The draw takes Rangers' winless run to three matches after the 3-3 draw with Celtic and 3-2 defeat to Ross County before the Dens Park stalemate. 

After the match, Kris Boyd and James McFadden questioned the response from Rangers despite Clement's claim that the players did fire back after the league loss at the weekend.

And Sutton advised Clement 'start praying' when asked how the Belgian boss goes about fixing the issues at Rangers. He said: "Prays. Starts praying."

Sutton then blasted back at Clement over his post-match interview as he warned the Ibrox side are "crumbling" at the business end of the season.

On Sky Sports he said: "I have been really impressed with Philippe Clement up until sort of now. I don't know what game he was watching to call Dundee lucky. They were not lucky.

"He did say Rangers lacked a spark and people should not jump to conclusions. The conclusion is in a huge game, a huge couple of games Rangers have had they've not stepped up when they need to most.

"It's come to the business end of the season and they needed to build momentum and they are losing it as this moment in time.

"We know second is last in Glasgow. We saw the reaction of the Rangers fans at the end. They are not happy. He's got this Rangers team back into a title race, then all of a sudden they are crumbling."
