Chelsea have turned their attention to in-demand Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley.

The English Premier League giants are reportedly assessing potential replacements for Conor Gallagher, who could be on the move to Atletico Madrid this summer after being informed that he would only be granted a bit-part role under new boss Enzo Maresca.

According to Sky Sports, O'Riley is among several options being considered by Chelsea as they plan for the possibility of Gallagher's departure.

He actually scored and provided an assist during the Hoops' 4-1 pre-season friendly win over Chelsea last month, and also was heavily influential when they defeated Manchester City on the same US tour

O'Riley, 23, has been making waves in Scotland over the past two seasons, drawing interest from various clubs, including Atalanta, who have already made bids for his services.

With additional interest from several teams from across the continent, O'Riley's future at Celtic could be in jeopardy.

Celtic are believed to be demanding over £20million but manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed earlier this week that any offer they have received have fallen well short of the reigning Scottish Premiership champions valuation of the player.

O'Riley landed a treble of accolades at Celtic's Player of the Year awards after starring with 19 goals and 18 assists from his 49 appearances throughout the 2023/24 campaign.
