Moritz Jenz has delivered a brutal verdict on Scottish football stating there are "only two good teams".

The former Celtic loanee - now at Schalke - slammed "everything else" as "physical and robust" as he reflected on his time in Glasgow.

Jenz spent six months in Scotland on loan from parent club Lorient before departing in January and heading back out on loan to the Bundesliga club.

Discussing the contrasting styles and ability levels faced in his career, Jenz commented: "In France, the players were technically better, but in Scotland, there were only two good teams and everything else was very physical and robust.

"Here in Germany, it's a good mix of everything."

During his spell at Parkhead, Jenz had hinted at his hope to extend his stay at the Scottish champions.

However, with permanent additions joining in the January window - Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata - the decision was made to cut his loan short despite holding an option to sign the player for a fee.

Now, Jenz is determined to impress at Schalke and remain with the German club into next season with an eventual dream to represent the German national team.

He added: "I would like very much to stay here at Schalke next season too. My ambition is to one day play for the national team.

"To be able to achieve that, I have to perform consistently in every game. And of course, I also need a bit of luck."
