Everything that Carl Starfelt said after Celtic booked their place in the League Cup final with a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Hampden Park...

Semi-finals are all about getting through to the final, aren't they?

Yes, exactly. The most important thing was to win the game and we did. We didn't play our best game as the conditions were not the best but we make no excuses. We got through so we are happy with that.

Was it one of those matches where you couldn't get the second goal and the longer that it stays at 1-0 then Kilmarnock have a chance?

Yes. I think that is a part of football and you will not put every game to bed early. We showed some spirit that we kept on fighting through it. We kept a clean sheet and scored two goals so that is positive.

You have been here long enough and you know about the conditions just how tough was it out there?

It was probably one of the toughest ones. As I said we do not make any excuses but the pitch wasn't great and it was very windy but we still tried to play our football and make the best out of it.

Kilmarnock started very quickly but Celtic grew into it as the game wore on didn't they?

They came out with a lot of energy and tried to make it hard for us and they put some pressure on us. It takes a lot of energy to play like that and when you ride out the first storm the game opens up a bit and that's what happened.

Celtic Way:

Semi-finals are all about results, not performances, aren't they?

We are through to a second successive League Cup final and we spoke about that before the game and said that we would do everything we could to win the game. It is a cup game and you don't get any second chances as you do in the league. If you lose you are out and that was the most important thing for us. It is also good that we can look at the game and review it and learn from it.

Was your heart in your mouth when you gave the ball away to Kyle Lafferty and he attempted to lob Joe Hart from distance?

No. I did not think he would score from there but you never know.

Celtic are through to a second successive League Cup final is it just a case of focusing on the league now?

We cannot think about the final right now as we have a league game on Wednesday and that is on our minds. There is still a lot to play for in the league and the cups and we need to be really focused and try to win every game.

Are you pleased for Giorgos Giakoumakis who scored the clinching goal as there is a lot of speculation surrounding him at the minute?

I was delighted for Giorgos and it is always nice to see the strikers score especially when you come on like that and he's been working really hard. He is a really good player and I am happy for him.

There were a couple of disallowed goals in the second half, have you seen them back and do you have an opinion on any of them?

No, I have not seen them again. They were offside, weren't they? It was probably the correct decision.

On occasions like this at the national stadium in front of the Celtic fans is this the reason you signed for the club in the first place?

Of course. A big reason to come to Celtic is to win titles and play in these kinds of games where everything is at stake. We have been speaking about how we need to raise our levels and try and enjoy these games and play our football and that's what we do.
