Sead Haksabanovic has been forced to miss Celtic's match against Hibernian due to a foot injury, Ange Postecoglou has confirmed.

The 23-year-old Montenegro international - the reigning SPFL Premiership player of the month award - was absent from the official teamsheets at Easter Road on Wednesday night.

Postecoglou confirmed in the build-up to kick-off in Leith that Haksabanovic had picked up an injury.

He told Radio Scotland: "We've had a few issues in and around the team in the last few days. Haksabanovic has had a bit of a foot problem - we're just getting that sorted out but he's still not right."

Haksabanovic also missed the match against Aberdeen with a training-ground knock before returning to play 27 minutes against Livingston and then 28 against St Johnstone.

Liel Abada returned to the starting fold at the expense of James Forrest in Postecoglou's only change for the visit to Hibs.

Oliver Abildgaard, amid much talk of his Parkhead days being numbered, was named on the bench for the first time post-World Cup break while Josip Juranovic was in the squad again after arriving back from Croatia's third-place run in Qatar.

Anthony Ralston also did not make the matchday 20 for the second game in succession, meaning Japan international midfielder Reo Hatate deputised at right-back following his two-goal, man-of-the-match display against the Perth Saints last time out.
