Celtic have been linked with Brazillian winger Tete for a significant portion of the transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, has been touted as a potential replacement for Jota, who joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad earlier this summer.

However, a recent report from Football Scotland claims the former Shakhtar Donetsk star will not be joining the Hoops and claims the Scottish champions are interested in him are "wide of the mark".

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has praised David Turnbull after his performance in the recent victory over Athletic Club, calling him "excellent".

The Scotland international scored the winning goal as Celtic won 3-2 against the La Liga side.
